Overview

This guide summarizes the confirmed rules and effects for Port Occupation and Stellar Halo bonuses in Foundation: Galactic Frontier. It covers how to declare and win Port wars, the benefits of holding ports, how to claim rewards, and the confirmed Stellar Halo bonus values by level.

Port Types and Guild Limits

  • Each Guild can hold up to 24 Ports in total: 16 Planet Ports and 8 Star Ports.
  • Star Ports provide Trade Attempts (TA): a 20% trade bonus when trading to that system from your home port.
  • Planet Ports can become settlement hubs and allow Guild members to establish a Trader's Home Port that grants Home Port buffs.

Declaring War and Attack Requirements

  • Only Commerce Guild Chairmen and Executive Managers can initiate a Port War.
  • To declare war on a Star Port, a Guild must already control at least one Planet Port in that same system.
  • To declare war on a Planet Port, a Guild must first occupy a Star Port within the same or an adjacent star system, except for Level 1 Planet Ports: the first-time attack on a Level 1 Planet Port does not require prior territorial control.
  • There is a Declaration Phase that ends with a countdown; when the timer reaches zero the assault phase begins. There is also a limited number of War Declarations available daily (the exact number is not specified in the official material).
  • Once the war declaration concludes, the attacking Guild has a one-hour window to begin its assault.

How Victory Is Determined

  • Ports are defended by garrison forces stationed at the Port's Space Station and a Port Fortress with HP. The Guild that deals the final blow to the Port's Fortress HP claims victory when several Guilds attack simultaneously.
  • When multiple Guilds declare war on the same Port, the battle time is determined by whichever Guild declared first.
  • After a Port battle concludes, the Port enters a period of temporary protection during which it cannot be attacked or have war declared against it.

Rewards and Benefits for Winners and Participants

  • The first time a Port is conquered, all participating members receive an exclusive honor bonus.
  • Members who actively join the battle earn additional rewards for their contributions.
  • Losing a Port means surrendering its associated trade routes, bonuses, and influence.
  • Winning control of a Port grants all Guild members increased resource yields (resource buffs).
  • After occupying a Star Port, a Guild can nominate an Overlord; Overlord nomination grants strategic bonuses. There are five Overlord positions in total (one for each quadrant of the Province map and one central Overlord). A Guild can only hold one Overlord per quadrant.

Home Port Buffs and How to Claim Rewards

  • Home Port buffs depend on port level and include Trade Attempts (TA), Building Speed (BS), and Daily Reward (DR).
  • To claim Daily Rewards: complete Trade Network Events.
  • To claim Resource Earnings from ports: go to Guild → Ports → Claim Button.

Stellar Halo: Global Guild Bonus

Star Ports grant a Stellar Halo: a global buff to all Guild members that applies no matter where they are in the galaxy. The Stellar Halo bonus does not stack for duplicate star levels (for example, having two Level 1 stars grants the bonus only once).

Stellar Halo Bonuses by Level (confirmed)

  • Level 1: ATK +2%
  • Level 2: INT +3%
  • Level 3: DEF +4%
  • Level 4: ATK +5%
  • Level 5: INT +5%
  • Level 6: DEF +7%
  • Level 7: ATK +7% / DEF +7%
  • Level 8: INT +7%
  • Level 9: ATK +10% / INT +10%

Battle Tactics Note (confirmed behavior)

Because the deciding factor in multi-guild attacks is which fleet lands the final blow to the Fortress HP, coordinated timing and precision are common tactics: some Guilds may wait for others to weaken the fortress before delivering the final strike.
